AIDS Legal Referral Panel (ALRP)

The AIDS Legal Referral Panel's mission is to help people with HIV/AIDS maintain or improve their health by resolving their legal issues. ALRP accomplishes this mission by providing free and low-cost legal services to people with HIV/AIDS in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is the only institution in the San Francisco Bay Area solely dedicated to providing free and low-cost legal assistance and education on virtually any civil matter to persons living with HIV/AIDS.

If you sign up to volunteer at a Folsom event and select Major Beneficiary ALRP as your beneficiary, please refer any questions to Volunteer Coordinator Hannah at

Folsom Street Events is contributing to ALRP'S HIV 50+ Project with our 2016 Fair Season. ALRP is requesting an unrestricted project grant for its newest specialty program, the HIV 50+ Project. ALRP’s HIV 50+ Project conducts client awareness activities such as distributing outreach materials and presentations for clients and staff, and offers representation by an ALRP staff or volunteer attorney covering a wide range of issues such as:  Eviction defense, including special eviction protections for seniors and people with HIV; Strategies for managing the reduction in income that occurs when private disability benefits term out; Advocacy with other service providers if the client is threatened with termination of services; and Comprehensive estate planning including wills, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.

HIV 50+ Project was launched in 2015, and ALRP anticipates serving 360 clients in more than 460 cases in its second year.  ALRP expects to draft 90 estate documents, stabilize housing for 80% of clients in 250+ housing cases, and provide benefits counseling to 120 clients.

You can help earn funds for ALRP this year by volunteering at one of the four events this year:
