Frameline (FLN)

Frameline’s mission is to change the world through the power of queer cinema.  As a media arts non-profit, Frameline’s programs connect filmmakers and audiences in San Francisco and around the world.

If you sign up to volunteer at a Folsom event and select Major Beneficiary Frameline as your beneficiary, please refer any questions to Volunteer Coordinator Krystal at

In our 2017 Fair Season, Folsom Street Events is thrilled to support Frameline Encore, a series of admission-free screenings of feature length and short subject films about underrepresented experiences within LGBTQ communities. Frameline Encore strengthens and builds community through active engagement with film media arts that crosses cultural and socio-economic boundaries. The series provides admission-free, educational opportunities to the public, thereby increasing awareness and understanding of issues as well as filmmaking as an art form.

Frameline specifically curates for, and reaches out to, people of color, women, youth, elders and transgender and gender non-conforming communities to experience their screenings. Frameline also reaches out to the leather/fetish community, and some of their films programs are selected for that purpose. Films chosen for Frameline Encore attract diverse audiences and provide positive images and stories to the people we serve. Lastly, through our outreach conducted online with social networking, Frameline has had great success in filling the theatre.
